What Is Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy?
Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy is a holistic healing art. It invites presence and awareness rather then prescribing treatments. Using age-old yogic approaches to foster a deeper internal experience, we are able to know ourselves more fully. Out of this knowing we are more easily moved to embrace the opportunity for change, growth, and enhanced well being.-Michael Lee, Founder

As we struggle to keep up with the hectic pace of our busy lives, we may find ourselves longing for simplicity, inner peace, and deeper meaning, for a way to heal our bodies, our spirits, and our lives. Though at times we look for outside sources to guide us, somewhere deep inside we know that we must slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and listen to our own inner voice.

Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, through a combination of selected yoga postures along with contemporary methods of focusing awareness, provides a chance for people to connect deeply with their inner experience, release layers of physical and emotional tension and find, experientially rather than theoretically, the beauty and strength that resides within. The work, bases on the client centered approach of Carl Rogers, is oriented toward trusting the innate capacities and motivations for healing and transformation that exist within all of us;it is the role of the practitioner to support that process rather than to diagnose or fix people.

A Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy session is a one-on-one process lasting one-and-a-half hours. Through assisted yoga postures and non-directive dialogue, practitioners guide clients to experience the connection of their physical and emotional selves. Using focused breathing, this connection is held and explored, fostering release, personal growth and healing.

There are more than 950 Certified Practitioners of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy. Although many are located in the United States, practitioners may also be found in Canada, New Zealand, England, Switzerland, Germany, Portugal, Iceland, Australia and Norway
